What you are wondering now
- What exactly does offline mean?
- The language model runs on a machine in your house or on your own server. No request goes out, not even an encrypted one. That is a difference from providers advertising servers located in Germany: there, your request still leaves the building.
- What hardware do we need for it?
- That depends on the model and on how many people work with it at once. For ordinary office tasks it is usually considerably less than people expect. The specific recommendation comes out of the check, not out of a spec sheet.
- Are open models worse than the well-known services?
- For some tasks yes; for many office tasks the difference is smaller than the trouble a professional confidentiality duty otherwise causes. We pick the model for your task, not from a leaderboard.
- Can we switch the AI part off again later?
- Yes. Without a key configured it does not exist, and the workflow carries on as before. We build nothing you cannot get back out of.
